The App Modernization on Microsoft Azure specialization combines the Kubernetes on Microsoft Azure and Migrate Enterprise Applications to Microsoft Azure specializations into one offering—making it easier to showcase your comprehensive expertise and stand out to customers looking for the right partner for end-to-end engagements.

By earning this specialization, you signal to customers that you can deliver a connected strategy to move, modernize, and run applications in the cloud—including migration, containerization, and ongoing optimization on Azure.

How long will my specialization stay active?

Your organization’s specialization will remain active for one year. After that, you can renew it, provided you meet the requirements at that time.

What are the requirements?

Eligible partners must meet the highest standards for service delivery and support. Requirements will be verified by Microsoft and/or a third-party vendor and are subject to change.

Your organization must have an active Solutions Partner for Data & AI (Azure) or Digital & App Innovation (Azure) designation.

Your organization must achieve a total of $15,000 of Azure Consumed Revenue (ACR) in the last 3 months from eligible Azure workloads and eligible association types.

Eligible Strategic Pillars: App Platform Services, Container Services, Developer Services and Platform, GitHub Copilot, Integration Services, Serverless and Supporting Services

Your organization should achieve ACR through Digital Partner of Record, Partner Admin Link, and Cloud Solution Provider. Government subscriptions (i.e., Fairfax) are not eligible for ACR via PAL association.

Your organization must have at least three (3) individuals who have passed at least one of the following certifications (one certification from each of the three certification groups listed below must be held by at least one individual):

Your organization can have a combination of the same individuals or different individuals who meet the certification requirement.

* The Azure Developer Associate certification’s retirement date is July 31, 2026. If completed before retirement, it will remain valid for one year.
