Microsoft Volume Licensing offers education organizations modern procurement and management options optimizing price, purchasing flexibility, varied procurement structures and payment options. Volume licensing offers partners the opportunity to establish relationships with education customers to provide customized and learning outcome-oriented solutions and services. Below are the most common licensing options and a chart with a complete list.
CSP licensing program is for institutions with one or more users/devices seeking to fully outsource management of their cloud services via a cloud solution provider. You can license cloud services in combination with your value-added services. All modern cloud offers, and student use benefits are available. We are working on availability of on-premises software. Channel incentives and margin opportunities are prioritized for CSP and Enrollment for Education Solutions (EES).
CSP makes it easy for customers to buy/get support from a partner and is the ideal cloud licensing model for smaller institutions.

EES licensing is best suited for large academic organizations (over 1,000 Knowledge Workers) as it has the flexibility to meet the complex needs of these organizations. EES is sold through licensing solution providers (LSP) and is an agreement where organizations commit to license at least one Enterprise Platform Product organization-wide. Student use benefits and Software Assurance are available on select products.
EES includes all Microsoft products while providing flexibility through concessions and enabling custom transition to the cloud.
EES enables you to provide all Microsoft products to build a custom licensing solution for committed customers.

For those cases where CSP does not cover the on-premises licensing needs of a customer, then Open Value Subscription for Education Solutions (OVS-ES) can be used to complete the licensing solution. OVS-ES is for smaller customers with 5 to 999 full-time employees or students. OVS-ES includes Microsoft on-premises products as well as Software Assurance and student use benefits. Other licensing models include Microsoft Product and Services Agreement (MPSA) and Select Plus.
