The PGA TOUR has partnered with Microsoft to deliver modern solutions across Office 365 and Windows 10 in the Microsoft Cloud. “The strategy is to integrate our technology from the office to the eighteenth hole to deliver a better experience for our employees, our players, and our fans around the world,” Evans said.

In their ongoing efforts to get more out of their Shotlink scoring system, which is powered by technology solutions provider CDW, the PGA TOUR will transition to new Surface and Microsoft Lumia devices running Windows 10. These devices are intuitive, secure, and easy to use, and will improve operational efficiency in gathering shot data. They will also allow PGA TOUR volunteers to track every shot and deliver accurate and timely data to their back-end systems and create unique experiences for how golf fans around the world engage with PGA TOUR content on the course, through the broadcast, and on the go through mobile devices.

“We will soon leverage the power of the Microsoft Cloud for advanced data analytics offering in-depth real-time capabilities to enable the PGA TOUR to bring something to the game of golf it has never had,” Evans said. “With the partnership between Microsoft and the PGA TOUR, we will enhance our capabilities to better serve PGA TOUR fans throughout the world.”
