The Copilot+ PC evolution is here—and it is powered by our partner ecosystem.

In less than 12 months, our device, silicon, and channel partners have driven hardware and software innovation with Copilot+ PCs—fast, intelligent Windows PCs built for the era of AI. Today marks another significant milestone in the evolution of this category with the availability of new AI experiences on Copilot+ PCs that are designed to spark creativity and streamline productivity.

Across the industry, there is widespread alignment that AI is empowering users to transform the technology ecosystem. When I speak with partners around the world, the conversation often turns to how we can clearly demonstrate the value of AI on the device. With today’s announcements, we’re doing just that. Copilot+ PCs now offer AI experiences like Recall (preview), Click to Do (preview), and Improved Windows Search*.

Introducing Recall (preview)

Searching for content on a Windows PC is something we do every day. Imagine being able to go back in time to find an app, website, image, or document you have interacted with and, either through natural language search or via a timeline, use Recall to find it.

This opt-in feature gives you control and confidence. Data is processed locally on your device, meaning it is not sent to the cloud and is not shared with Microsoft, and Microsoft will not share your data with third parties without your permission. With built-in protections like Windows Hello sign-in, data encryption, and isolation, you can be confident in the privacy and security of your information.

I manage hundreds of documents each week, and it is so difficult to stay on top of things and remember where I saw them. Recently, I was building a presentation and needed to pull in elements from a document, a website, Teams messages, and a deck I had seen over the past few weeks. Using Recall, I quickly found each item. I then used Click to Do to effortlessly select and copy the information I needed and incorporate it into my presentation.

Combined with improved Windows Search, where you can describe small details of what you remember like “dogs on beach” or “recent budget,” these new experiences are giving you time back to focus on what’s most important to you.

With the rollout of these AI experiences, we are not just enhancing devices—we are redefining productivity and what customers can expect from a Windows PC. Copilot+ PCs demonstrate the power of on-device AI fueled by high-performance NPUs, delivering smarter, faster, and more secure computing. But it is the innovation of our OEM and silicon partners that brings this vision to life.

These experiences would not be possible without the 40 TOPS NPU on Copilot+ PCs from AMD, Intel, and Qualcomm, on which we have built powerful AI models that can handle local AI processing power. These silicon partners are powering the future of technology with their innovation that empowers our incredible software development company partners to imagine the possibilities and align new AI-powered experiences that help customers be more creative, productive, and efficient.

With device partners like Dell, HP, Lenovo, Samsung, Acer, and Asus building sleek, beautiful, and robust Copilot+ PCs, users can find the right PC for their needs. Whether it’s for gaming, creative work, complex data analysis, or managing a small business, OEM Copilot+ PCs with Windows 11 security can improve productivity.

AI that works for you

These features simplify everyday tasks—freeing up time for what matters most. Combined with last month’s announcement extending Copilot+ PC experiences across silicon, we are seeing the full potential of Copilot+ PCs with Windows 11 in action.

Our partner ecosystem has quickly embraced Copilot+ PCs. They are using the performance power of the NPUs to deliver experiences that change the way users create and work. Just like the early days of the internet, these experiences are exciting—and could be transformative. Over time, they will become a natural part of our daily workflows. This moment also highlights the real value of the modern PC—an intelligent, secure, and productive platform that evolves with the needs of users and businesses.

Preparing for the future

With Windows 10 end of support approaching on October 14, 2025—when Windows 10 devices will no longer receive security updates—now is the ideal time for customers to upgrade to Windows 11 or a Copilot+ PC. Windows 11 is the most secure version of Windows yet—built from the ground up to meet evolving threats, as part of the Microsoft Secure Future Initiative.

For commercial customers, modernizing your PC fleet can improve security and reduce costs. Modern device management, policy implementation, and system hardening can increase user uptime and productivity and even deliver faster ROI. For customers who are looking to extend their migration time before making the switch from Windows 10, there are several options: we offer extended security updates (ESU), or customers could consider adopting a Cloud PC with Windows 365.

This is a tremendous opportunity for our partner ecosystem to drive scale and help customers—commercial and consumer—make smart, timely decisions about refreshing their PCs. We have a wealth of resources available to help our OEM and silicon partners innovate, grow, and succeed in the ecosystem.
