Upgrading Bupa Global’s data messaging

Bupa Global had been relying on a variety of proprietary and legacy electronic data interchange formats to handle data messaging. This process was becoming more inefficient and latent. It was slowing down business processes and hindering the sharing of data with partners. Bupa Global made the decision to consolidate data messaging and upgrade to the latest Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) standards to realign its business partners in North America.

Working with many Bupa Global teams, TwoConnect developed and delivered a modern integration app based on Azure and BizTalk Server. The integration app easily consolidated data from multiple internal sources to provide business partners with a reliable feed of all Bupa Global transactions.

In addition, TwoConnect developed an Azure-based web app to enable Bupa Global personnel to quickly remediate common errors in incoming data, and thus significantly shorten processing times. Services used include Azure Web Apps, Azure SQL Database, Azure Logic Apps, and Azure API Management.

Because TwoConnect’s solution is based on Azure, Bupa Global significantly reduced on-premises infrastructure costs and process redundancy while increasing data reliability and efficiency. The reliability of Azure instills trust in TwoConnect’s integration app and gives Bupa Global confidence in its platform for sharing data and information.

Bupa Global now has a streamlined process for partners who can send HIPAA transactions across all of Bupa Global’s internal systems.
