Customers are clear about what they want from AI now. They want to move from ideas to outcomes faster, and at enterprise scale. The experimentation phase is giving way to production expectations, and time to market is becoming a competitive advantage in how organizations transform.

That shift creates opportunity for AI practice leaders in services partner organizations. Partners who can repeatedly take agentic solutions from concept to production, while addressing governance and security considerations, can earn a bigger role in customers’ most critical transformation work.

Earlier this spring, Nicole Dezen shared the direction for our partner ecosystem, including our framework for Frontier Transformation and updates to the Microsoft AI Cloud Partner Program, such as the Frontier Partner specialization. This blog is the follow-up, with clear guidance on how to build the partner business behind Frontier Transformation and how to position your practice to win on time to market.

Move confidently from pilots to production

AI has moved from experimentation to real-world impact. Customers are transforming business processes, products, and employee experiences with AI, and they expect solutions that operate reliably in the real world. That means production-grade delivery, governance, and the ability to scale.

Frontier Transformation is the next chapter of AI transformation. While the first wave of generative AI adoption focused on productivity and efficiency, Frontier Transformation is about business reinvention—unlocking creativity, innovation, and democratized intelligence to drive growth, not just optimize cost.

The building blocks of Frontier Transformation

To make Frontier Transformation real, customers need two building blocks working together: intelligence and trust.

Intelligence: Microsoft IQ

The intelligence that matters most is your customer’s. It’s the proprietary knowledge inside their organization, their industry context, and the way their teams actually work.

Microsoft IQ is the intelligence layer that activates enterprise data, so AI agents and Microsoft 365 Copilot can operate with a live, consistent understanding of the organization. It connects AI, data, and context, turning structured and unstructured information into shared organizational intelligence that can power workflows and coordinated agent experiences as adoption scales.

Trust: Agent 365

As customers deploy more agents across more systems, trust becomes the platform requirement. Customers need a clear view of what’s running, how it’s behaving, and how it’s governed.

Agent 365 is a control plane designed to support centralized visibility and management of AI agents, extend identity and access controls, and apply enterprise security and governance features as agentic AI becomes more embedded across the business.

Deliver faster, scale sooner, govern from day one

Microsoft’s building blocks, intelligence and trust, provide the foundation for Frontier Transformation. But a foundation only becomes an outcome when customers are guided by a partner who can take it from strategy through implementation, scaling, and governance.

That’s where you lead. To close the gap between vision and execution, you can tap into our curated skilling path for hands-on experience with Microsoft IQ and Agent 365. This skilling path is built on the knowledge Microsoft uses to ready our own Forward Deployed Engineering (FDE) teams, the engineers who work shoulder-to-shoulder with customers on the hardest agentic builds. Partners will soon also be able to use our Hyper-Velocity Engineering (HVE) framework to take agentic solutions from concept to production faster.

For partner engineers who earn these skills, we’ve created an individual credential designed for builders to differentiate their expertise to customers. Explore more Frontier Transformation Engineer readiness resources.

Build intelligent capacity with the Frontier Transformation Engineer badge

The Frontier Transformation Engineer badge is an individual credential that signals one thing: this engineer can ship. It combines foundational certifications (AI-103, AB-100, GH-300), hands-on Project Ready workshops, and pattern fluency across Centers of Excellence, Hyper-Velocity Engineering, and industry-specific agent design. It’s a working credential focused on the realities of production delivery.

For AI practice leads, the business case is straightforward. Every Frontier Transformation Engineer badge holder on your bench expands what you can credibly offer customers—and lowers the cost of subsequent pursuits, because your teams build repeatable delivery patterns and carry learnings from one engagement to the next.

Treat this as a new expectation for your top engineers, so your practice evolves with market demand and customers’ need for accelerated time to market.

Build organizational credibility: Frontier Partner specialization

Individual credentials matter, but customers buy from organizations. That’s why we’re introducing the Frontier Partner specialization, an organization-level mark that makes it clear your firm can design, build, deploy, govern, and secure AI agents end-to-end to drive Frontier Transformation for customers.

The bar is intentionally high. It requires existing specializations across the four Microsoft Cloud domains, a minimum threshold of Frontier Engineer badge holders, Microsoft Fabric data engineering depth, and a successful agentic capability audit. It’s meant to be earned, and it’s meant to be visible—in the Microsoft Marketplace, for alignment with Microsoft sellers, and across customer search.

For partners pursuing Frontier-class work, this specialization is the path.

June 9: When strategy meets skill at the Frontier Transformation Engineer Summit

On June 9, 2026, we’re convening at the Frontier Transformation Engineer Summit, a single day built for the people who deliver. The format is designed for AI practice leads, partner architects, and senior engineers who want patterns, playbooks, and access that translate into production execution.

What to expect from the virtual summit:

  • An executive frame on Frontier Transformation, and where the partner opportunity sits inside it
  • A 90-minute deep dive on Hyper-Velocity Engineering with the Forward Deployed Engineering team—the credit-required session for the Frontier Transformation Engineer badge
  • A practitioner walk-through of the Center of Excellence pattern, followed by industry agent accelerators
  • A clear view of the Frontier Engineer badge and specialization journeys, including how to staff and sequence them inside your practice

Register now and make sure your senior solution architects/engineers save the date.

Note: Event listings may show “registration coming soon” depending on region and timing.

Three moves to make this week

  1. Pick five engineers: Name your first cohort of Frontier Engineer badge candidates and put them on the path to AI-103, AB-100, and GH-300.
  2. Block June 9: Register your AI practice lead, lead architect, and top FDE-equivalent engineers for the Frontier Transformation Engineer Summit. Treat the HVE deep dive as required
  3. Map your path to specialization: Audit where you stand against the four specializations, your Fabric depth, and your agentic delivery evidence. Identify the two gaps you can close before year-end.
  4. Launch one campaign in a box: In Partner Marketing Center Pro, pick one campaign in a box aligned to AI, security, or data modernization, tailor it for your audience, publish from the same experience, and use built-in reporting to guide what you run next.

Frontier Transformation is how Microsoft and our partners turn AI ambition into customer outcomes—at speed, at scale, and with the trust enterprises require. The motion is set. The question left is how quickly your practice gets engineered to ship.

See you at the Summit on June 9!
