Microsoft partner benefits packages start at $350 and, when fully utilized, can unlock significant value for partners. They empower you to run your business more efficiently, accelerate skilling and innovation, and improve solution quality.

Partner benefits provide Microsoft partners with access to discounted product licenses, Azure credits, technical consultations, and support. They are available across three package tiers: Partner Launch Benefits, Partner Success Core Benefits, and Partner Success Expanded Benefits, so partners can choose the right level of benefits for their stage of growth.

New research from Omdia and IDC shows that when partners actively use these benefits, the impact can be significant. Omdia found that 90% of surveyed partners reported some level of ROI from their package investment, and 83% of surveyed partners reported that benefits packages contributed to business growth, with growth of at least 30% in some scenarios.1

According to a new IDC Info Snapshot, sponsored by Microsoft, partners can realize potential retail savings of $17,342* with Partner Launch Benefits, $99,407 with Partner Success Core Benefits, and $578,972 with Partner Success Expanded Benefits when they maximize package utilization.**²

The message across both studies is clear: the strongest returns come when partner benefits packages are used as growth infrastructure, not simply as a set of discounts. Partners are using their packages to operate as Customer Zero (using Microsoft solutions internally before taking them to market), accelerate innovation, move faster to market, and build repeatable, high-margin offerings that strengthen their business.

That Customer Zero approach is already showing up in how partners run their own businesses.

“We have treated the Microsoft partner benefits package as a core operating component of our infrastructure. It’s not just a perk. It is something where we embrace it as Customer Zero.”
- Jason Price, CEO, Aston-Price

This blog shares a practical playbook you can use to turn your partner benefits package into repeatable motions toward Frontier transformation: across internal skilling, solution development, go-to-market, and delivery.

2026 benefit packages updates

In February 2026, Microsoft updated partner benefits packages to expand access to product licenses, Azure credits, and support benefits.

Since then, partners have seen updates that can show up quickly in daily execution.

  • AI and Microsoft Copilot expansionThe benefits guide lists expanded AI and Copilot capabilities across packages, including Microsoft 365 Copilot seat increases in select tiers. Microsoft Dragon Copilot and Copilot Studio credits are also included in select tiers.
  • Security additions: The latest benefits updates introduced additional security offerings, including Microsoft Defender Suite, as well as, in some tiers, Microsoft Entra Suite and Microsoft Intune Suite.
  • Partner Marketing Center ProThe new AI-powered Partner Marketing Center Pro is included in Partner Success Core Benefits and Partner Success Expanded Benefits, with unlimited access so partners can efficiently create and drive demand. It brings marketing tools into a single AI-powered hub, with campaigns in a box, AI-guided campaign creation, and real-time performance analytics.

If you haven’t checked your updated benefits recently, it is worth reviewing the three packages before you plan your next quarter.

Six ways partners get more from their benefits packages

Omdia found that partners achieving the highest returns typically leverage benefits strategically within the business, rather than treating them as simple cost savings.

Here are six actions you can use as a repeatable operating model.

1) Assign internal-use licenses to real roles, not inboxes

High-return partners use internal-use licenses to build confidence and credibility, especially for products that are newer or more complex. Omdia specifically calls out internal training and sales enablement as a key advantage partners are unlocking through their packages.

Make it practical:

  • Sellers: Hands-on product usage to sharpen positioning and qualification
  • Technical leads: Sandbox and build readiness
  • Delivery teams: Repeatable implementation patterns and governance checklists

That hands-on usage becomes part of the customer conversation.

“The benefits package allows us to operate as Customer Zero so our consultants speak from lived experience, not theory. And that is a powerful message for our customers. We use every tool that we sell to our customers.”
- Sergio Baptista, Partner ITC, PKF Attest

2) Treat Azure credits like budget, with owners and targets

Azure credits are a core value driver across the packages. Omdia notes that Azure credits and internal-use licenses are particularly important for business development and operational efficiency.

Partners that get outsized value assign an owner, define what “good utilization” means, and review monthly usage the same way they would review a marketing budget or delivery backlog. You can also standardize demo environments, proof-of-concept templates, and reusable architectures that accelerate sales cycles.

Use Microsoft Cost Management to bring more discipline to that process. Cost Management empowers organizations to analyze, monitor, and optimize Microsoft Cloud costs, with capabilities to track usage, monitor expenses, identify cost anomalies, and forecast expenditures. Partners can also use budgets, cost alerts, cost allocation, and exports to create clearer accountability across projects, teams, or customer-facing motions. Microsoft Cost Management is available at no additional cost as part of Azure.

3) Use technical advisory benefits to shorten build and delivery cycles

Omdia notes that access to Technical Presales & Deployment Services included with your package can offset costs and improve speed to market for new solutions. These benefits can also contribute to stronger solution quality and higher customer satisfaction.

If you are not using advisory hours today, start with one scoped engagement per quarter:

  • Technical presales readiness for a priority offer
  • Deployment planning to reduce rework and accelerate delivery
  • Security baseline validation for AI projects

4) Run one repeatable campaign motion per quarter in Partner Marketing Center Pro

Partner Marketing Center Pro is the unified, AI-powered marketing hub designed to streamline end-to-end campaign planning, activation, execution, and performance tracking.

A simple operating model:

  • Pick one campaign in a box motion aligned to your primary offer.
  • Customize to your value proposition and customer segment.
  • Launch, measure, refine, then rerun with tighter targeting.

This is how partners turn access to tools into pipeline discipline.

5) Use Partner Concierge for one-on-one partner program consulting

Your partner benefits package gives you access to valuable resources like Microsoft AI Cloud Partner Program Concierge, which offers personalized consultations with dedicated specialists.

Obtain guidance on benefits and incentives activation, designations and specializations strategy, training pathways, and marketing and sales enablement. Use Partner Concierge as part of your quarterly benefits review to understand utilization data and learn how to activate unused benefits. More one-on-one insights include how to prepare a Microsoft Marketplace update, build a campaign motion, improve referral management, or improve your partner capability score.

Partner Concierge is especially valuable when you need to connect multiple motions into one coordinated plan. For example, you may be refining your Marketplace profile, aligning a campaign to your primary offer, and validating the next step in your designation or specialization path. Partner Concierge can bring those priorities together and give you a clearer path to execution.

6) Review benefits package fit on a cadence, not at renewal time

Each of the partner benefits packages are designed for a different stage of business growth and Microsoft practice maturity.

The key is to review fit when your business changes, not just when the annual fee is due. A quarterly review is usually enough. Ask questions such as:

  • Are we using what we already have?
  • Are we constrained by seats, credits, or support incidents?
  • Are we running a consistent go-to-market motion?

Turn savings into reinvestment

Partners that reinvest savings see measurable impact.

“That return gives us operating leverage, and that allows us to reinvest the savings into our time, which turns into better product, better services for our customers, and adoption and governance and change management.”
- Jason Price, CEO, Aston-Price

As noted in the IDC Info Spotlight, “To realize the most value, IDC recommends partners integrate their current benefits into their operations and assess outcomes and then consider any plans to move to the next available level.”

Omdia’s partner interviews bring that value to life. One partner estimated the value of Partner Success Expanded Benefits at about $35,000 for a $4,000 investment, mainly from Azure credits and licenses. Another reported about $70,000 in benefits from a $4,000 investment, citing access to Dynamics licenses and Azure credits.

Choose the right package for your business

For partners building their practice, early access can create room to reinvest in growth.

“To be able to have a package, even before we had a solution designation, to be able to run our business on Microsoft, that meant the world to us. It also allowed us to build a business because we didn’t have a significant licensing cost up front.”
- Justin Slagle, CEO, The Partner Masters

Packages are designed to meet partners where they are, offering a clear path to grow, scale, and deepen your Microsoft practice over time.

  • Partner Launch Benefits: Best when you are starting, building familiarity with Microsoft products, and creating your first repeatable motions.
  • Partner Success Core Benefits: Best when you are building a stronger cloud and AI practice and need a deeper foundation of licenses and consultations.
  • Partner Success Expanded Benefits: Best when you are scaling reach and deepening your Microsoft partnership, with more robust benefits across product, support, and go-to-market.

As your practice grows, review whether your current package still matches your needs. Where eligible, adding another active offer may give you the capacity to keep building without waiting for renewal.3

The next step is to operationalize your package so that the value shows up in seller readiness, faster delivery cycles, stronger security posture, and a consistent campaign engine.

Treat your partner benefits package like growth infrastructure and review it the same way you review your top investments.
