Nasuni increases revenue by 80% with help from GTM Services

Why the Field Museum and others chose Nasuni and Azure

Watch customers from the Field Museum, architecture and engineering firm LEO A DALY, and more talk about why they chose Nasuni and Azure.

Enterprise storage and file services provider Nasuni has been seeing clear success from their co-selling efforts with Microsoft as well as their work with the Microsoft Go-To-Market Services team. According to Andres Rodriguez, Founder, President and CEO of Nasuni, Microsoft and Nasuni have participated in several co-selling and co-marketing events together that have yielded great results.

“We moved to Microsoft Azure from Amazon Web Services (AWS) so we could leverage Microsoft GTM Services and the results speak for themselves. Since we moved, our revenue growth has skyrocketed,” said Andres Rodriguez, Founder, President and CEO of Nasuni.

“Aligning with Microsoft Go-To-Market Services helped Nasuni increase overall revenue 80% and new customer acquisition by 120% last year,” said Warren Mead, Nasuni’s Vice President of Business Development. “We hosted over 20 Azure events at Microsoft Technology Centers (MTCs) globally that have driven over 300 qualified opportunities in our pipeline and over 100 net new Microsoft Azure wins. We are also currently working together with Microsoft to win several big enterprise accounts.”

Microsoft and Nasuni have closed several joint customer deals recently, including a significant win with the Field Museum in Chicago, which is using Nasuni Enterprise File Services and Microsoft Azure to digitally archive 30 million items in the museum’s collections as well as research activities from their genomic sequencing of endangered species. The Field Museum team evaluated several cloud storage options, including one offering from Amazon Web Services, but they ultimately chose Nasuni, backed by the Microsoft Azure cloud platform.

“We played with AWS, but I personally think Azure is more cutting-edge on the technology side, and having the filers backed by Azure brings that to the forefront,” said Rob Zschernitz, Chief Technology Officer at the Field Museum. “With Nasuni and the Azure cloud, we can take advantage of the vast resources in Microsoft’s huge datacenters, which is especially vital for a small IT team like ours, as we must support not just storage but also a wide range of stakeholders, applications, and operations.”

Warren Mead, Vice President of Business Development at Nasuni

Several other customers have found Nasuni and Azure to be a winning combination. “We chose to go with Azure as our back end object store to Nasuni and that certainly created a level of comfort for us,” said Stephen Held, Vice President and Chief Information Officer at architecture and engineering firm LEO A DALY. “We were a little bit in there with our Office 365 adoption, but this puts us there in a big way and I think really paves the way and opens our eyes as to some of the other things that that environment can provide us.”

Jeff Keel, IT Manager for law firm Foran Glennon Palandech Ponzi & Rudloff, put it simply: “With Nasuni being in Microsoft Azure, it just makes our lives easier.”

According to Mead, the technology integration between Nasuni’s cloud storage offerings and Azure, as well as the ability to leverage Microsoft’s GTM Services and co-selling opportunities, have been essential ingredients to success.

“The biggest benefits that Microsoft GTM Services provide a company like Nasuni is around marketing, messaging and alignment for our file storage service. The Microsoft GTM team has helped us align with the right field team to target and co-sell Nasuni and Azure,” Mead said. “Having the ability to leverage a global offering with a world-class team is a game changer for us.”
