Migrating an e-learning business to Azure

TheSimpleClub needed a way to monetize their e-learning business. In this interview, nexx.tv describes how their solution not only increased revenue, but enhanced the learning experience for students as well.

With over a million subscribers, TheSimpleClub was one of the most successful e-learning providers in Germany. But a majority of their content lived on YouTube, limiting their ability to monetize the content they provide. The integration of payment or additional features wasn’t possible and ad revenues had to be shared. This led TheSimpleClub to reach out to nexx.tv for help building their own platform.

The platform nexx.tv developed for TheSimpleClub featured new functionality, including improved discoverability for the website, new social media and sharing features, and elements of gamification. “We built an app that enables the users to have fun while they learn,” Beste said. The new platform also allowed TheSimpleClub to create a members-only area where users can pay a monthly fee to access additional features. “There’s a paywall inside the application where you can do tests and quizzes,” Beste said. “This really enables them to grow their business from a revenue perspective.”

The solution developed by nexx.tv transformed The Simple Club’s entire business model and delivered impressive results in record time. “It was a really amazing project. Within the first four or six weeks, 250,000 of the customer’s YouTube subscribers downloaded the app. This was a 25% conversion rate that resulted in a 50% increase in revenue.”
