Microsoft-based technology
According to Francisco Sánchez Zurita, who is a Strategic Alliances Manager at AuraPortal, the company’s offerings are based entirely on Microsoft technology. Developed on the Microsoft .Net framework, AuraPortal’s software is integrated with Microsoft Office 365, Microsoft Dynamics CRM, and Microsoft SharePoint. It also uses Microsoft Azure SQL Database, and Microsoft Azure is their exclusive cloud provider. “After testing other possibilities for a year, AuraPortal decided to work only with Azure because of the enormous prestige of the Microsoft brand and performance that guarantees that the whole system will function well,” Sánchez Zurita said.
Sánchez Zurita said that integrating with Microsoft technology has helped to enhance AuraPortal’s products and services. “We specifically offer AuraPortal with Azure Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), and that makes AuraPortal one of the most secure and efficient platforms for developing your automated processes,” he said.
Automating business processes for Toyota Spain
One significant customer that AuraPortal helped with the assistance of Microsoft technology was Toyota Spain, which was looking to automate its compliance-related business processes. As part of its environmental commitment, Toyota Spain wanted to implement an environmental management system (EMS) throughout its official dealer network. “Toyota not only manufactures vehicles with low CO2 emissions, it continually strives to minimize the environmental impact in all phases of a vehicle's useful lifecycle and in all areas of business including the dealerships," said Karl Van Dijck, Director of Corporate Affairs at Toyota Spain.
AuraPortal helped the automotive manufacturer create GEA-Toyota, an application developed using the AuraPortal BPM Suite and hosted on Microsoft Azure. The solution allows Toyota Spain to effectively implement an environmental system, make process improvements in its centers, and ensure compliance with environmental regulations. Using the solution, Toyota has improved its compliance with legal requirements by 98 percent, internal auditing by 70 percent, internal communication by 80 percent, and analytical capacity by 88 percent, Sánchez Zurita said.
“The implementation of an IT tool like GEA-Toyota based on the AuraPortal BPMS has meant that a large part of the work has been centralized, making it possible to maintain the same criteria for all of the various dealers located throughout Spain,” Van Dijck said.
“With AuraPortal, Toyota Spain is able to deliver complete transparency, auditability and reporting to regulators, allowing them to control the flow of data and use the right procedure in each case,” Sánchez Zurita said. “With the Azure Cloud, they have guaranteed the security of the data and that AuraPortal will be always available for all of the dealers.”
According to Trilles, AuraPortal looks forward to more collaboration and co-selling with Microsoft in the future. “We find that when a new customer begins the process of researching our product, being a Microsoft environment solution helps transmit more confidence,” she said.
