TwoConnect case study

TwoConnect delivers seamless continuity of business operations with BizTalk Server Application Management (BSAM)

BizTalk Server 2016 migration boosts productivity

Forrest T. Jones & Company (FTJ) needed to migrate applications from Microsoft BizTalk Server 2010 to BizTalk Server 2016, including identifying gaps and determining how to deal with ongoing production issues.

TwoConnect facilitates focus on core business

As part of its BSAM solution, TwoConnect provided FTJ with services for migrating to BizTalk Server 2016 and supporting its existing production environment.

Delivering seamless continuity and flexibility

BSAM focuses on supporting, maintaining, and adapting FTJ’s integration solutions to ensure the seamless continuity of business operations.

FTJ helps policyholders protect their lives, health, families, and businesses

Established in 1953, FTJ provides insurance programs to more than 80 national associations and employer groups with more than 1.5 million members. FTJ strives to meet customer needs by applying the latest technology and marketing expertise in a dynamic environment that produces the best results for members.

TwoConnect simplifies software development through its team of Microsoft MVPs, Azure developers, development managers, trainers, and a worldwide community of integration experts. The company has led hundreds of integration implementations covering all major industry sectors.

FTJ brought in TwoConnect to assist with its migration from BizTalk Server 2010 to BizTalk Server 2016. FTJ needed to identify gaps, develop the migration roadmap, and migrate BizTalk applications while determining the best ways to deal with ongoing production issues and manage future challenges.

Merging the worlds of Microsoft and open source to deliver powerful business solutions

As part of its BSAM solution, TwoConnect provided strategies to improve performance in the BizTalk Server 2016 production environment. FTJ received recommendations for the Runtime Groupings; usage of BizTalk Health Monitor; and how to improve availability, database backup strategy, environment configuration, and business activity reporting. TwoConnect structured the managed services to address FTJ’s unique needs and allow greater flexibility in the workplace—all within FTJ’s budget and to the required service level agreement.

TwoConnect BSAM let FTJ concentrate on its core business while TwoConnect focused on BizTalk, providing FTJ with increased performance in the new BizTalk Server 2016 production environment and better results from BizTalk Health Monitor. BSAM focuses exclusively on supporting, maintaining, and adapting FTJ’s integration solutions to ensure the seamless continuity of business operations. The BSAM solution utilizes BizTalk Server 2016 Enterprise Edition including BizTalk EDI Runtime, SQL Server 2016 Enterprise Edition, BizTalk Server 2010 Enterprise Edition including BizTalk EDI Runtime, and SQL Server 2008 R2 Standard Edition.

“TwoConnect’s BizTalk Server Application Management solution and its award-winning BizTalk Managed Services team focused exclusively on building solutions to complete FTJ’s migration to BizTalk Server 2016 and bring it up to full speed. It also implemented guidelines for supporting, maintaining, and adapting all their integration solutions to ensure the seamless continuity of business operations going forward. The BSAM solution targets problems and presents solutions that empower companies to focus on what’s important and remain leaders in their industry," TwoConnect President Javier Mariscal said.

“This was all possible thanks to the Microsoft hybrid integration platform, which seamlessly integrates the on-premise code stack based on BizTalk Server with the Azure Integration Services in the cloud. It all runs as one and that makes all the difference.”
