Atech Cloud empowers customers with proactive cybersecurity

Atech Cloud provides the expertise, support, and Microsoft technology that organizations need for comprehensive security.

For most people, cybersecurity means having a comprehensive system that defends against cyberattacks. But what about individually delivered, interactive workshops on security threats? Or a guide to maximizing your security tech stack?

Atech Cloud, a Microsoft Solutions Partner for Security, is a member of the Microsoft Intelligent Security Association and is also a 2022 Partner of the Year finalist for Modern Endpoint Management. Their perspective is that education and awareness around cybersecurity are just as powerful as the technology behind the security system. With five Solutions Partner designations and 11 specializations, the United Kingdom-based company is an experienced and trusted advisor for organizations navigating the ever-evolving digital security landscape.

A proactive partner in cybersecurity

Microsoft AI Cloud Partner Program, Atech Cloud helps customers strengthen their ability to predict, prevent, and respond to cybersecurity threats with funded engagements, proofs of concept, and ongoing education. "We use the [Microsoft threat protection] workshops to understand where [the organization's] pain points are and what's preventing them from elevating their security posture to meet the required standards, specific to their needs," said Elaine Riley, Product Marketing Manager at Atech Cloud.

Atech Cloud helps organizations with funded, discovery-style assessments that provide customers with a clear picture of their security position—and potential immediate cost savings. With their software licensing assessment, customers go through a half-day engagement to see where they're over-licensed and how they can cut costs from third-party applications. For a more holistic view of security, Atech Cloud scores a customer's overall security across all areas of the business.

"We really take the time to understand organizations' unique security challenges and how we can enable them to achieve their goals, purely with Microsoft technology," Riley said.

From there, Atech Cloud tailors their solutions depending on each customer's needs, working closely with them to reach and maintain a tighter security posture. A key part of that maintenance is staying ahead of potential security threats—not just reacting to them.

"We don't just react to an event," said David Craft, Microsoft Alliance Manager at Atech Cloud. "We're constantly looking out for the next threat that could potentially hit and making sure we're completely proactive before future attacks."

For one of their customers, Pro Global, that meant moving away from their on-premises servers—which created an easy single point of attack. After completing Atech Cloud's licensing, security, and cloud assessments, Pro Global worked in partnership with Atech Cloud to implement a host of new suites, including Microsoft 365, Microsoft Azure, Microsoft Defender, and Microsoft Sentinel. "Atech Cloud helped us implement the technology we needed to modernize Pro Global's infrastructure using a secure and controlled migration strategy," said Kristy Lovegrove, Group Head of Technology at Pro Global.

Since then, Atech Cloud also delivered a threat protection engagement for Pro Global, which helped improve security across the estate and identified their needs for data and identity protection. "We're now continuing our partnership with Atech Cloud to tap into the Microsoft E5 solution—the cloud-based suite of 365 productivity apps combined with advanced voice, analytics, security, and compliance services," Lovegrove said.

Filling the security skills gap

While Atech Cloud can provide a suite of trusted services, they also know it's important for organizations to understand the "why" behind cybersecurity. "[Organizations] don't have the in-house ability or time to skill up and stay ahead of increased levels of security attacks," Riley said. "They can see that AI is coming. They understand the threat as well as the opportunity."

That's where Atech Cloud's expertise helps fill the gap for those organizations. With an extensive library of educational resources—including e-books, workshops, and webinars—their priority is to build trust and equip customers to better understand security threats.

But their education around security doesn't just cover external risks. One critical, but often overlooked, aspect that Atech Cloud addresses is internal user training, a vital component covering topics like phishing attacks and password protocols.

"Organizations don't often think about the fact that their biggest weakness in their intelligence and posture is actually their own users," said Riley. "So we offer user awareness training sessions as part of our managed service and onboarding for clients."

For Atech Cloud, security is the foundation of everything they do—and they're focused on building that same foundation for their customers. "If one of our customers is looking to grow their online presence, we aren't just looking at the physical capabilities of Microsoft Azure and the cloud elasticity they need to have in place," said Riley. "We're also considering the security risk of the data they're going to be dealing with, the customer interactions, and the apps they're going to be using."

A partnership built on empowerment

As the digital world—and the threats that come with it—continues to evolve, Atech Cloud monitors data and trends to equip customers with the knowledge they need to navigate it.

"Our advice is never, 'You must buy a full-blown security service from Atech Cloud to ensure that your security posture is where it needs to be.' Our recommendation is always very much, 'This is what we see in the market. This is what we understand to be the biggest threat of 2024, and this is how we've enabled other clients to [leverage] the Microsoft Security features that they're already paying for,'" Riley said.

For organizations investing in threat protection, Atech Cloud doesn't just provide the solutions and services—they also provide the guidance that empowers customers to take ownership of their security.

"We get to be an extension of their IT team," Riley said. "We give them that peace of mind to be able to both maintain their security posture and be proactive with it."
