WeTransact powers $21 million in billed sales with Marketplace Rewards

Microsoft Marketplace Rewards benefits and Azure credits enable WeTransact to grow its presence and boost deal velocity

Fast-growing startup wants to build trust and expand visibility

Microsoft partner WeTransact, maker of a platform that helps companies swiftly get listed and start selling in the Microsoft commercial marketplace, wanted to boost credibility as it rapidly scaled.

Game-changing resources enable promotion and opportunity

WeTransact used Microsoft Marketplace Rewards benefits to grow its status, unlock credits through marketplace sales, and gain recognition for its value in the partner ecosystem.

Aligning with Microsoft and connecting with new customers

With the help of Azure credits unlocked by WeTransact's marketplace sales, WeTransact has been reaching new audiences and amassing deals, generating $21 million in billed sales through customers.

Accelerating customers to success in the Microsoft marketplace

From its headquarters in Lyon, France, and from offices in Portugal, Australia, Mexico, and Canada, WeTransact’s team of nearly 50 people works with software companies of all sizes and across all industries. WeTransact’s software-as-a-service platform of the same name helps companies get listed in the Microsoft commercial marketplace with as little as 2.5 hours of effort, then go live in as few as five days, with no technical team needed. The platform helps independent software vendors succeed through co-sell opportunities with Microsoft and its network of resellers.

WeTransact became a Microsoft partner in 2023 and achieved top-tier status by July of that year. The company uses Azure in its platform and guides its customers to make the most of commercial marketplace go-to-market benefits so they can win with Microsoft. In FY24, WeTransact was recognized by Microsoft France as a finalist in the “Startup of the Year” category.

Unlocking deals with Marketplace Rewards and Azure credits

Marketplace Rewards benefits have enabled WeTransact to grow its presence and boost deal velocity. Having a dedicated engagement manager advising on which benefits to use and when has also been a game-changer. With this guidance, WeTransact became aware of investment opportunities it might have missed and helped unlock $250,000 in additional funding, which fueled exponential growth over the past two years.

WeTransact gained significant visibility and trust in FY25 by highlighting a key customer win on the Microsoft partner site. Sharing this content with prospects helped shape buying decisions and build credibility. WeTransact also chronicled its success in helping more than 250 independent software vendors join the Microsoft commercial marketplace while cutting their time to publish by 75 percent.

“The marketing support from Microsoft has helped us get noticed and grow faster,” said Julia Do Prado, Marketing Lead at WeTransact. “Being featured in a customer success story on the Microsoft partner site gave us exposure we wouldn’t have had otherwise.”

WeTransact unlocked credits through marketplace sales, which it uses as an incentive for customers. These have helped close deals faster, reduce friction, and build trust with new customers. For example, a $150,000 Azure sponsorship gained through Marketplace Rewards resulted in a $1.5 million return in Marketplace billed sales through WeTransact directly.

Customers that use WeTransact’s tool to transact in the Microsoft commercial marketplace generated more than $21 million in total billed sales, reflecting strong year-over-year growth. Azure credits have been essential in helping WeTransact land most of the deals it has closed and build the revenue base it has today.

As a result, WeTransact gained attention from Microsoft internal teams and was recognized in a blog post by Microsoft EVP Judson Althoff, highlighting the value the company brings as a Microsoft partner.

“Marketplace Rewards from Microsoft are amazing: They were fundamental in helping WeTransact scale. Azure credits for our mutual customers enable 10X returns, one way that WeTransact has powered $21 million in billed sales.”
