Important change to Microsoft's Certifications

Two years ago we made the change from product to job-based certifications, which was a step in the right direction but we did not provide a method for IT pros to stay current with technology updates. Certification Renewal is our new method of aligning skills and certifications to cloud-business model, in which technologies evolve constantly with fast release cycles. It offers a no-cost, online learning experience with an assessment on Learn that will test on the latest technology updates for each certification. OCP GTM Solutions Migration to Commercial Marketplace

After December 8, 2020, partners with solutions in OCP GTM can and should start migrating those solutions to the Microsoft commercial marketplace within Partner Center using the tool Microsoft will provide to them. Additionally, new and current partners wishing to start co-selling with Microsoft will need to initiate this process in the commercial marketplace in Partner Center beginning December 8, 2020.

IMPORTANT: Microsoft open license program changes

Microsoft is taking a significant step to simplify licensing by introducing perpetual software license purchases through the new commerce experience, as part of our Cloud Solution Provider program for partners. You can continue to renew and purchase new software licenses through the Open License program until December 31, 2021.

Update to Open-L to SW in the new CSP digital transformation journey

Two important upcoming updates for CSPs:

  • July 1, 2021: No new SKUs, products, or promotions will be added to the Open License program price list.
  • July 7, 2021: Two commercial offers, Get Genuine Windows and Visual Studio Professional, and public sector offers (government, education and nonprofit ) will be added to the CSP perpetual software price list. The price list can be found in the Software section of the Sell > Pricing & Offers page in Partner Center and will be republished on this date.

The Federal Government recently announced that it will be covering half of a new or recommencing Trainee’s salary until September 2021.
The Microsoft Traineeship Program is designed to support budding IT professionals as they take the first step in their career, and with a rising demand for Tech skills – the BAC programme will help companies take on a Trainee for about $16k - $28k a year.
