Capgemini makes data more humane (and helpful) with Microsoft Fabric

Capgemini harnesses Fabric to deliver efficient, scalable, and innovative AI-powered solutions, transforming data management and helping to drive business value for customers.

Capgemini is a global leader in consulting services that helps businesses ask the tough questions, and find the right answers, by harnessing the power of technology. Operating across 50 countries, the company's mission is to transform businesses with a customer-first approach and intelligent industry solutions.

Capgemini's solutions serve a broad spectrum of sectors, including manufacturing, financial services, retail, telecom, and consumer packaged goods. No matter the area, Capgemini prides themselves on creating solutions rooted in ethical practices and sustainability.

"Ethics, sustainability, and inclusion are at the core of our DNA," says Eric Reich, VP and Global Head of AI & Data Engineering at Capgemini. "We have been committed to these values since our founding, and Capgemini is proud to be ahead of our own ethics, sustainability, and governance goals because of this commitment."

The company seeks to embed integrity, boldness, and trust into their work. Sustaining that culture—and building technology solutions aligned with it—requires constant innovation.

Capgemini innovates in partnership with Microsoft

Capgemini has built an array of innovative solutions in collaboration with Microsoft, including the Azure Intelligent App Factory. This offering aims to empower organizations to scale responsible and sustainable generative AI capabilities for their businesses at speed.

"We see data as the core of AI-powered business transformations," says Reich. "Because without trusted data as a business asset, you will never have trusted AI."

The company has also earned 14 Microsoft specializations and attained a Solutions Partner designation for Data & AI (Azure), among others. Capgemini has also been recognized with three Microsoft Partner of the Year awards in 2024 and was a finalist in four categories. Together, these recognitions underscore Capgemini’s expertise, knowledge, and experience in delivering Microsoft projects to their joint customers.

"We don't just look at Microsoft from simply a data and AI angle," says Reich. "Microsoft provides our customers with tools empowered by generative AI, including Microsoft 365 Copilot and Microsoft Azure AI Studio. I see Microsoft Fabric as reinforcing the link between data and security, making data available for use at an enterprise scale."

Capgemini was a recent launch partner for Fabric, the AI-powered analytics platform that unites data and services. But the partnership between Microsoft and Capgemini has been ongoing for decades, marked by deep collaboration and a shared vision for enterprise technology solutions.

The company offers Fabric-specific consulting services and workshops to help their customers maximize the data platform's potential. Their Data Journey Using Microsoft Fabric Workshop, for example, helps customers discover Fabric and assess how they can use its AI-powered approach to data management and analytics.

Creating seamless Fabric processes for a leading manufacturing company

Since the 2024 Microsoft Fabric Community Conference, Capgemini has noticed an eagerness among customers to learn what the platform can do for them.

A United States-based manufacturing company sought the help of Capgemini to modernize their data infrastructure using Fabric. At the time, they were struggling with costly inefficiencies and needed a better way to handle a range of analytics reports from different platforms and data sources.

Capgemini proposed an end-to-end solution that would consolidate the company's disparate data sources into a unified data-as-a-product architecture using Fabric. This approach would help them establish a single version of truth across the organization, improving their data management and decision-making processes.

This Fabric solution centralized the company’s data, reduced total cost of ownership, and provided a scalable, flexible architecture ready for future growth.

"We have seen infrastructure cost reductions up to 40% and performance improvements of around 30%," says Samir Chaudhari, Partner Acceleration Lead at Capgemini. "The automated data ingestion of Fabric has not only reduced the company's manual effort by 25% but also assisted in faster, more accurate data processing and analytics."

The successful implementation of Fabric has also empowered the manufacturing company's business departments to generate their own reports and dashboards without relying on IT, which has accelerated agility and responsiveness.

"The cost of maintaining all their data and keeping it up to date was a struggle," says Alan Luu, Managing Enterprise Architect, Insight & Data Global Practice at Capgemini. "With Microsoft Fabric, that's all managed. That adds significant value immediately."

This newfound independence has allowed the manufacturing company to refocus on their core business objectives, driving further innovation and efficiency across the organization.
