Early-adopter Mandelbulb Technologies finds success with Fabric

Mandelbulb Technologies builds on their analytics background through Microsoft Fabric-based offerings and workshops.

August 7, 2024

Headquartered in Jaipur, India, Mandelbulb Technologies is a leading provider of cloud-native, data, and AI services. As a Microsoft partner since April 2023 and a Fabric early adopter, Mandelbulb Technologies uses the unified data analytics platform to deliver tailored solutions across industries. The company was also recognized as a 2024 Microsoft Global Analytics Partner of the Year finalist, in part for their expertise in advanced analytics, machine learning, and AI. Their solutions provide scalability and security on the Microsoft Azure cloud platform.

Founded by Anshul Bhatnagar and Deepanshu Thakur, Mandelbulb Technologies has rapidly gained recognition—and customers—for their commitment to innovation, customization, and support. "Our relationship with the client doesn't end with the deployment of a solution," says Bhatnagar. "We provide ongoing support and maintenance, helping them navigate any challenges that arise post-implementation." By tailoring solutions to each customer's specific needs, Mandelbulb Technologies can provide measurable results and strategic alignment with business objectives.

Helping to achieve growth in consulting engagements through Fabric

Their journey with Fabric began when the company attained a Solutions Partner designation for Data & AI (Azure). Mandelbulb Technologies adopted Fabric soon after it debuted in 2023, and their rapid success with the platform led to them being featured at Microsoft Ignite—a testament to their ability to deliver analytics solutions and their active participation in the Fabric community. "We were even celebrated as a Fabric feature partner at the very first Microsoft Fabric Community Conference in 2024," says Thakur. "That solidified our reputation as leaders in the Microsoft Fabric community."

The founders have seen firsthand the advantages of being a Microsoft partner working with Fabric: "It has increased our visibility and discoverability within the Microsoft ecosystem, leading to more collaborations and opportunities," says Thakur.

Not only do they believe their status boosted Mandelbulb Technologies' credibility within the Microsoft ecosystem, but they found it also increased their access to Microsoft sales and technical teams. Explains Thakur, "Being able to connect directly with the Microsoft field significantly enhanced our ability to serve our clients." As a result, Mandelbulb Technologies has gained invaluable knowledge-sharing opportunities, while their tech talks and workshops have positioned them as thought leaders in the industry.

To underscore their expertise in data and AI, Mandelbulb Technologies also earned multiple specializations, including the Analytics on Microsoft Azure specialization, which demonstrated their proficiency in analytics and extensive expertise with the Azure platform. Mandelbulb Technologies has noticed the impact from these achievements, as well as from their engagement with Microsoft community initiatives like the Fabric Analyst in a Day (FAIAD) workshops. "We have received really positive feedback," says Bhatnagar, "with 85% of attendees finding our sessions highly informative."

Building a sales pipeline with workshops and labs

Positive feedback from Mandelbulb Technologies' FAIAD workshops led to a promising sales funnel. According to Bhatnagar, "It has led to a significant increase in our consulting engagements." Designed to help customers understand and utilize Fabric effectively, these workshops have become an opportunity to provide hands-on experience and valuable insights as customers consider Fabric for their own solutions.

Mandelbulb Technologies has also grown their Fabric practice through their Fabric Incubation Labs. These labs, offered by Mandelbulb Technologies, provide an environment where customers can prototype, test, and validate solutions before full-scale deployment. This helps customers efficiently and effectively gain the full potential of Fabric. "The Fabric Incubation Labs help our customers rapidly innovate and implement solutions using Microsoft Fabric," says Bhatnagar, "reducing the time to market and achieving their strategic goals more efficiently." Mandelbulb Technologies also uses Microsoft AppSource to showcase solutions and give potential customers an easy way to directly connect with them.

Mandelbulb Technologies believes their partnership with Microsoft has driven substantial business growth. The recognition and support from Microsoft have helped the company secure major projects with customers such as Grasim Industries, who needed assistance improving defect detection and processing time.

Grasim Industries boosts analysis volume by 100% with Fabric

Grasim Industries, a leading manufacturing division of the Aditya Birla Group, faced significant challenges in their quality control (QC) processes. Their manual procedures were labor-intensive and involved lab technicians performing subjective assessments to identify defects in fiber samples. This process was not only time-consuming but also prone to inconsistencies, impacting their overall efficiency and product quality.

Mandelbulb Technologies addressed these challenges by implementing a comprehensive Fabric-based solution. Using Azure AI and Fabric, Mandelbulb Technologies developed a deep learning vision model to automate the analysis of fiber samples. This model works with Fabric Real-Time Analytics, using Eventhouse to store and query real-time data. The solution also includes Data Activators for real-time alerting on images that fall below quality thresholds, and Power BI Embedded to generate summary dashboards and monitor results. Additionally, OneLake serves as a centralized data repository for storing all images, and Azure Kubernetes supports highly scalable consumer-specific containerized apps.

Mandelbulb Technologies delivered the entire solution in just three weeks. With the quick turnaround, Grasim could start realizing the benefits of Fabric almost immediately. The automated analysis reduced processing time for Grasim by 99.5%, from four hours to just one minute per batch. This significant reduction in time helped Grasim increase analysis volume by 100% without any degradation in performance. The defect detection accuracy improved to 98%, giving higher quality standards and more reliable outcomes.

Mandelbulb Technologies believes the scalability and flexibility of Fabric were crucial in achieving these results. By consolidating QC processes onto a unified platform, Grasim Industries can seamlessly connect various data sources and facilitate real-time processing and analysis. The solution not only enhanced operational efficiency but also reduced costs associated with manual QC processes.

Looking forward with Mandelbulb Technologies: AI, sustainability, and Fabric

Mandelbulb Technologies plans to deepen their expertise in Fabric, especially related to AI and real-time analytics. For now, their focus will be on expanding their Fabric Incubation Labs to cover more industries and use cases.

"We are also actively combining sustainability considerations into our data solutions," says Thakur. "As we expand our partnership with Microsoft, we're looking to use Azure capabilities for more energy-efficient solutions that reduce the overall carbon footprint of the IT operations." By pioneering new AI-powered solutions and setting new benchmarks in data-driven decision-making, Mandelbulb Technologies is committed to driving innovation and sustainability with Fabric.
