Call2Teams add-on for Office 365 integrates phone systems with Microsoft Teams

Integration challenges

For many companies, until now, integrating their private branch exchange (PBX) phone system with Microsoft Teams has been a daunting and expensive proposition.

Microsoft collaboration

Qunifi worked with Microsoft to develop Call2Teams, an Office 365 add-on that connects any PBX phone system with Microsoft Teams.

Global reach

The Call2Teams app is now available across 36 countries globally, enabled by the international transaction capability of Microsoft AppSource.

Qunifi’s development as a Microsoft partner

Based in the United Kingdom, Qunifi is a leading company in unified communications integration. Qunifi services are delivered globally from Microsoft Azure locations across three continents. The Azure platform, combined with management tools like Application Insights, have enabled Qunifi to scale without increasing management overhead.

Qunifi attained a Silver ISV competency in 2019 when it listed Call2Teams on AppSource. Qunifi then gained IP Co-Sell status, opening the door to sales opportunities with 30,000 sellers worldwide from Microsoft. In July, Qunifi was invited to the Microsoft for Startups program to provide a fast-track for commercial and technical engagement.

The Call2Teams add-on is sold exclusively on Microsoft AppSource and through a network of channel partners. It's billed via a simple, low-cost, per-user monthly subscription in addition to the Office 365 license. Being a cloud-based multitenant solution, it's appropriate for businesses of all sizes.

PBX phone system integration

Many companies' PBX phone systems were developed at huge expense over many years, with complex call routing, recording, and functionality to manage calls in different offices. Until now, it has been extremely difficult and expensive to integrate PBX phone systems with Microsoft Teams.

The Call2Teams platform uses standard Session Initiation Protocol, or SIP, to connect to the phone system, just like a regular phone. This means virtually all current systems are supported. The business can retain its existing numbers, routing, and call center configurations.

A simple portal manages the Call2Teams service. Enter the list of users and the information to connect them to Office 365 and the PBX, and they are ready to go. Real-time diagnostic information shows they are connected and ready to use the service, which can be up and running in minutes. Call2Teams provides end-to-end encryption of signaling and media while managing Secure Sockets Layer certificates for each customer. It provides fine-grained access control to the Call2Teams calling platform, and customers can revoke Qunifi's access to their Office 365 tenant at any time.

Microsoft Teams can be installed on any desktop or mobile device, so staff members can make and receive work calls from the phone system wherever they are. With Call2Teams, Teams users now gain full voice collaboration capabilities. And for Microsoft partners, they can now earn revenue by integrating their clients’ phone systems with Office 365 and Teams.

“This breakthrough for cloud-based collaboration means that our customers will be able to make the most of the flexibility and scale of Microsoft Teams with a solution that uses technology they can trust.”
