Partner Resources

  • The Surface Reseller Alliance portal (available at https://partner.microsoft.com/surface) is our channel partners’ primary source for sales and marketing resources—as well as information about our channel programs. Some SRA pages contain information and assets that are only available to authorized Surface partners.
  • If you are an authorized Surface partner and cannot access gated Surface pages, please contact your Global Admin and reach out to Partner Center Support.

  • Microsoft is committed to supporting and rewarding eligible partners for their proactive device selling motions. As part of this mission, Microsoft has developed multiple programs to drive upfront discounts for our channel partners. These programs fall into three categories:
    • Deal Registration. Deal Registration rewards Resellers for the presales investments they have made for Microsoft Device opportunities.
    • Volume Discount Programs. Microsoft’s Volume Discount Programs, “Accelerate Pricing Program”, and “Special Pricing”, approve upfront discounts based on deal size and business case to help Resellers and Distributors position Microsoft Devices competitively.
    • Focus Program. Microsoft introduces programs for special focus areas from time to time. E.g. Multi-National Program.

  • Microsoft’s Volume Discount Programs, “Accelerate Pricing Program”, and “Special Pricing”, approve upfront discounts based on deal size and business case to help Resellers and Distributors position Microsoft Devices competitively.
    • The Special Pricing program is designed to evaluate large volume opportunities (1000+ units) and award incremental discount for high volume and strategic deals. Discounts are based on a variety of factors and, if awarded, may vary by SKU. The credit will be paid out to the Distributors through the Credit memo process.
    • The Accelerate Pricing Program is the first Microsoft consumption-based pricing model for hardware.  It has been designed to incentivize partners to acquire new Surface customers and drive growth in existing accounts. This program is also targeted at rewarding customer loyalty and purchases, with no need for a volume commitment.

  • Deal registration is a program to recognize Resellers who invest resources into developing relationships and closing sales with customers. The objective of the Deal Registration is two-fold: to drive partner sales investment and to create pipeline visibility. Deal Registration is intended to reward the Reseller for investment of resources and time spent to develop and support Surface wins for eligible products and customer base.

  • Surface for Business customers choose us because every device comes standard with Windows 10 Pro, is shipped straight from the factory enabled for Autopilot and has implemented the latest security and compliance standards available from Microsoft. We have you covered from the chip-set, to your operating system, to the cloud. And when you combine Surface with Microsoft 365, you give your people the gift of freedom to work their way, wherever they are, with the best cloud productivity platform on the planet and the latest security and modern manageability solutions from Microsoft that proactively keep your business safe.
  • Just as we currently have with the rest of our portfolio, our latest lineup will:
    • Continue to differentiate on Windows OS (Home vs. Pro), offering commercial customers Windows 10 Pro standard with the additional built-in security and management features that let you focus on running your business.
    • Continue to include Advanced Exchange at no additional cost for commercial SKUs in addition to the standard hardware warranty. In case you’re not familiar, Advanced Exchange is a premium service offering that provides an expedited device replacement and reduces downtime by sending you a device before you ship back the defective unit. 
  • We have also adapted our commercial packaging, with a design focus on customer needs and sustainability. We developed with our customers and partners in mind and adapted our Surface commercial packaging to better align with commercial channel requirements and improve the partner experience. 
  • With our new commercial packaging, we reduced weight and volume by over 30%, increased the amount of recycled materials to 70%, and reduced our greenhouse gas emissions by over 40% when compared to our historical retail packaging. In addition, we redesigned packaging to break down into completely flat pieces, encouraging recycling.
     

Support and Service

  • Microsoft does not offer on-site support for Surface. However, our Microsoft Service Offerings pitch deck outlines several available warranty options—such as Advanced Exchange and Next Business Day Replacement—and can be found on the Surface Reseller Alliance portal.
  • Advanced Exchange Service is available at no additional charge with the standard Hardware Warranty for Surface Pro 6, Pro 7, Pro X for Business and Surface Laptop 2 and Laptop 3 for Business SKUs. 
  • With Advanced Exchange, a replacement device is shipped directly to a customer before they return a defective device.
  • Advanced Exchange is only available in supported markets. Restrictions apply.

  • The Microsoft Surface Academy syllabus has been designed to help you progress, step-by-step, through the Microsoft Surface story in what we feel is the most logical and accessible way for you to learn about the devices, their origins and their evolution. Surface Academy includes sales and technical training content for both Surface PC and Surface Hub products.
  • Most Surface Academy training content resides within the Microsoft Partner University portal. If you are unable to access Partner University, please review this resource on the Surface Reseller Alliance portal for guidance and escalation paths for more assistance.
  • In addition to Surface Academy, a selection of archived partner training webinars can be found here on the Surface Reseller Alliance portal.
